Ilobu indigenes into the industry, he encouraged many to develop to managerial level. As at the time, the only bank in Ilobu - National Bank,  was in distress and the bank he headed, the TIB, had no rural banking policy, we were left with a Community Bank. It was he who took over the leadership of the Community Bank in Ilobu in order to strengthen it as an alternative to the defunct commercial bank. As the chairman, Ilobu CB, he used his banking expertise and his personal financial resources to stabilize the bank thus saving it from collapse.

When Alhaji Assan O. Arogundade was the President of Ilobu Descendants Union, 1993 - 1995 the community witnessed rapid developmental changes. The Ilobu House walling works were 10 completed and the project was roofed. He also introduced Internally Generated Revenue, (IGR), for IDU through Rental Ventures. He was a committed, well focused, visionary, dynamic and resourceful leader. During his tenure as IDU President, he brought in “who’s who” in both banking and business industries in the society, by invitation to “Ilobu Annual Day Celebrations”.

His guests generously donated to assist in the union’s various developmental projects. It was during his tenure as I.D.U. president that the union became registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission thus it became a legal entity. This banking ‘Guru’, Arogundade, was made the Transition Committee Chairman of Irepodun Local Government, 2002 - 2003. His regime installed several electricity transformers in the local government area and also replaced dilapidated electric poles in his effort at improving electricity supply within the community. Many career officers of the Local Government, in top management posts today will remain grateful to him for his gracious assistance. Also, as a philanthropist, many students benefited from his scholarship and bursary awards.

Alhaji Hassan Arogundade was appointed Director, National Bank of Nigeria, Express Discount Limited and Refuge Insurance Limited in 1991 before he was later appointed Chairman, Express Discount Limited from 1996-1999.  He is a member of many professional bodies such as:

* Associate Member of Chartered Accountants (ACCA), 1970.
* Associate Member of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA), 1972.
* Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB), 1976.
* Fellow of Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (FCCA), 1970.
* Fellow Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB), 1980.
* Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), 1987.
* Council Member, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, 1985-1987.
* Member, Nigerian Institute of Management.

He has many award to his credit among which are:
* Honorary Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Oyo State Chapter, 1994.
* Award Of Recognition in the Development of  Banking and Finance, University of  Ibadan, 1995/1996.
* Best Bank Chief Executive of the year 1996 by Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Ibadan.
* NIMSA Grand Order / Sponsor, Nigerian Medical Student Association, University of  Ibadan 1997.
* Life Vice President of  Ibadan Chamber of  Commerce and Industry 1998,
* Leadership Award by Nigerian Union of Journalists OSBC TV Chapter 1999,
* Gold Merit Award by Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Ibadan Branch, 2000
Alhaji Hassan Arogundade was a Clerk with John Holt & Co. Ltd from 1950-1954. He rose to the Position of Assistant Book-keeper before he resigned for further Studies in the United Kingdom. He was employed as Senior Clerk by Adhesive Tapes Limited (Manufacturers of Seelotape Products) in Borehamwood England from 1963-1970 before he was promoted as Accountant in 1979. Also, he was the Chief Accountant of  Coast Timber Group of  Companies, London,  from 1970-1972 before he was transferred to Lagos office late 1972.

When he came back as a qualified accountant, he took up a job with International Paints and later with International Bank for West Africa, (IBWA), now Afribank, where by dint of hard-work, he rose to top management position.
He later crossed over to Trans International Bank, Plc. as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, (MD/CEO). While in the Banking Industry, he did not only recruit many
